Lexington Catholic’s Scott Schuette solidified his place as one of the state’s top seniors and best sharpshooters with his performance at the Sweet 16.
The 6-foot-4 Schuette finished the two-game run 18 of 37 from the field, including 9 of 25 three-point field goals, for 48 points to pace the Knights.
“He’s a Division I player,” LexCath coach Brandon Salsman said. “When other kids might shy away, he wants to take the big shot. He wants that pressure.”
Schuette picked up an offer from Air Force on Saturday. He also has offers from Army, St. Anselems and Rollins and has been hearing from Bellarmine, Wofford, Elon and Furman.
Schuette said he has also been offered a walk-on spot at Boston College.
“I figured the more I (kept) playing, the more colleges would see me,” Schuette said. “I’ll just sit down and make a decision after the season.”
On the season, Schuette hit 114 of 307 three-point field goals and averaged 17.7 points. He had 114 games during his final five games.
